Only Rain Down the Storm Drain School Resources
We’ve put together a sample lesson plan with a menu of different activities and resources to choose from to get your communities excited about stormwater and taking actions to keep your local waters clean. Help celebrate WI Stormwater Week by incorporating a stormwater activity or two into your lesson plan and help “Keep Only Rain Down the Storm Drain”.
Target Age: 4th to 6th grade
Objectives:
Describe what stormwater runoff is.
Determine where runoff in their community goes.
Understand pollution sources affecting runoff.
Describe actions people can take to reduce runoff and keep runoff clean.
Which of the three main WI watersheds are you located in?
Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, or the Mississippi River are the 3 main watersheds. Did you know that stormwater runoff, which washes off land within these watersheds, eventually makes its way to these waters?
Request a free poster of Lake Michigan, Lake Superior, or the Mississippi River to use during your library program (images below).
